What "handcrafted" travel actually means (and doesn't)

Three things the term doesn't mean.

What "handcrafted" travel actually means (and doesn't)

What it means

A handcrafted trip is designed from the ground up around a specific group. It starts with questions:

  • Who's travelling? Ages, mobility, food preferences.
  • What kind of mornings do you like?
  • What would be the "this was a good trip" moment?

Answers shape every choice — accommodation, pace, activities, restaurants.

What it isn't

1. A template trip you tweaked

Most "custom tours" just swap hotels around a fixed itinerary. Real handcrafting starts blank.

2. A price point

Handcrafted isn't always expensive. Our trips start at ₹25,000 per person. The attention, not the price tag, is the point.

3. "Just tell me what you want and we'll book it"

A good specialist pushes back. "You said you want to see everything in 5 days — here's why that's a bad idea." That's handcrafting.

How to tell

  • The first draft itinerary arrives as prose, not a bullet list.
  • There are options ("here's a slower version and a faster version").
  • The specialist knows the destination by name, not by tour code.
  • Cancellation terms are explained before you pay.

What we do

We think this way because it's how we'd want to travel. Every Traveolla trip is handcrafted. See our approach on About or contact a specialist to start yours.
